International Conference "Toward a Sustainable Attitude"

From 6 to 8 October, in the Aula Magna of Ca’ Dolfin, Ca’ Foscari University is hosting the international conference “Toward a Sustainable Attitude: Aesthetics, the Arts, and the Environment”. Partners of the conference are NYU Tandon and Universität Bern. The conference is meant as a privileged occasion to reflect on the philosophical and artistic contribution to the discourse and practices of sustainability, such as to emerge as favourable drivers of behavioural change. On this occasion it will also be possible to visit the Solar Protocol installation by researchers from New York University.

Ca' Foscari teaching offers multiple possibilities for "learning sustainability" through study courses focused on the themes of environmental, social and economic sustainability. For the academic year 2022/23 it is possible to attend bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as international programmes and professional master's programmes and numerous PhD degrees.

From 21 April you can buy the iconic Ca’ Foscari water bottle, which features an illustration by the Venetian artist Lucio Schiavon and produced by 24Bottles. The water bottle will be available for purchase on Ca’ Foscari’s online shop and in the shop at Palazzo Foscari, the university’s headquarters. Starting from 21 April the university will continue to give one bottle for free to the members of the Ca’ Foscari community who have not received it yet — students (including Eramsus students) and staff can collect their bottle at the Ca’ Foscari shop.

It is the action program for people, planet and prosperity signed by UN member countries. By 2030, with the 17 SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals, countries will mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind. Sustainability is a pillar of the Strategic Plan of Ca' Foscari, in which we have included the dissemination and implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with the 17 SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals.

LEED Certification

Palazzo Foscari has officially earned the LEED EB:O&M certification becoming one of the oldest “green”
buildings on the planet. The LEED certification attests the sustainability level of a building.

UI GreenMetric

In 2019 Ca' Foscari placed 99th in the international ranking of sustainable universities (out of 780 participants universities), turning out to be the third italian university.
